When A Simple Lunch Becomes Something More

On 6 March 2026, in the spirit of International Women’s Day, inspiring women leaders from the KeyNote Women community gathered in Singapore for lunch. On the agenda was a keynote from one of their own.

What unfolded was something none of them had planned for.

Co-hosting the gathering was Alya Annabi, one of the speakers in the KeyNote Women directory, who shared her keynote with the group. Her insights on finding your voice and leading with courage sparked a conversation that rippled around the table – honest, thoughtful, and real.

Two insights rose to the surface that afternoon:

Progress happens in small, consistent steps and in the company of people who encourage you to step forward.

We often discover we have far more in common than we think and that’s where real learning begins.

There is something particular about a room full of women who have all chosen, in their own way, to use their voice. The stories are different. The backgrounds are different. But the thread running through all of it – the desire to lead with meaning, to speak with courage, to lift others as they rise – is the same.

That is the spirit behind KeyNote Women Speakers. Not just a directory or a training programme, but a community of strong female voices supporting one another on their leadership journeys.
